Midlands Connect has today launched a major research project into regional impacts of transport on health and is asking for staff and patients to get involved and give their views.
As part of the new government’s five missions, one being to Build an NHS fit for the future, Midlands Connect is now kicking off a massive research project into how transport and health, in the Midlands, link to the mission and what benefits key schemes like the Midlands Rail Hub could play in support of the NHS.
As part of the project it has created two surveys and is urging people to get involved:
- One for NHS patients which can be found here: https://app.polling.com/forms/25411ec7-697d-4690-8133-ad0cba60adbd/share
- Another for NHS staff here: https://app.polling.com/forms/4ce475ae-e40d-4eaa-b946-df6d809f86a4/share
Midlands Connect has also contacted selected GP practices and hospitals in the region to ask them to take part too.
Midlands Connect believes that providing reliable, affordable and accessible transport for key workers is essential to enabling critical institutions like the NHS to operate efficiently and successfully. Making the most of our rail network within the wider transport network will also help reduce emissions, which benefits public health.
The survey runs until Friday 30th August.
Head of Strategy Richard Bradley said:
“We are urging NHS staff, institutions and most importantly patients to get involved and let us know your views. The survey should only take five minutes and your opinions will make a massive difference, helping us prioritise our efforts.
“We want to use this data and map it onto key schemes like the Midlands Rail Hub and proposals like creating a rail link between Coventry, Leicester and Nottingham and see what impact better and more frequent transport could make. So please do take part and make your voice heard!”
