MP met with rail leaders to discuss the future of Stafford Train Station
Stafford MP, Leigh Ingham, met with Avanti West Coast and Midlands Connect to find out the current and future role that Stafford station can play in supporting housing and jobs in the town.
Midlands Connect has been collaborating with Avanti West Coast to research ways of attracting more people to use the railway and boosting local economic growth through station investment.
Currently the station is served by three operators – Avanti West Coast, Cross Country and West Midlands/London Northwestern.
These operators run every 30 mins or better to London, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham. In future, HS2 trains will travel via Stafford from the Handsacre Junction travelling on to Stoke-on-Trent and Macclesfield.
